Reached down a leafy lane lined with Oak trees, the
Yurt
is a 20 foot diameter, felt-lined Ornate Turkmen built from Ash trees sourced
from the Glyndebourne Forest and is of a strikingly beautiful construct. It has a 6 foot roof wheel which is great for lighting during the day and on
clear nights gives
fine views of the stars. Along with Dogwood's resident animals there are barn owls, badgers and rabbits for company,
sometimes glow-worms too, and the
surroundings are usually alive with birdsong, with an amazing morning and dusk
chorus. Externally the Yurt is surrounded by decking and is separated from the campsite in its own private
space including a fire-pit and picnic table; there is parking very close by.
Internally the Yurt is decorated in an eclectic but chiefly Tibetan style and is
equipped with...

- a Morso Wood Burning Stove with guard.
A radiator is also available for additional warmth.
- 2 x Deluxe Handmade Taurus beds (90cm x 180cm);
including firm 'orthopaedic' mattresses
- Quality bedding including duck down duvets
and pillows. Egyptian Cotton bed linen.
- Kettle, mini-fridge, toaster, electric lighting. Complimentary
tea and coffee provided. USB ports.
- Chairs, small table and other basic furniture
including cushions.
- Travel cot available - please book in advance.
- A short walk
from the Yurt are 4 x toilets and 2 x showers.
- Outside - picnic bench, parasol, fire bowl with grill.
- Small shop on site - milk, eggs, wood etc
occasional homemade bread.

any children staying.

Catering
Apart from the electric kettle, toaster,
mini fridge and wood stove, there are currently no
catering facilities available at the Yurt. We do have a small shop on site for
basic supplies including organic UHT milk as well as free range eggs
(the ones from our chickens, when available, are organic). There are tea and coffee making
facilities available in the Yurt. There is plenty of space outside for cooking for those who have their
own cooking equipment. If required a fire-bowl is available for outside
cooking. Most importantly however, a 10 minute walk from the Yurt is the Red Lion 'gastro'
pub which does great lunches and dinners (and good beer!). We also recommend the
New Inn in Westfield, the Queens Head in Sedlescombe, the King's Head in Udimore
and the Broad Oak in Broad Oak, all either a walk or a short driving distance away. Various restaurants in Rye will also deliver
as far as Brede. Depending upon availability organic vegetables available for
purchase from our 'vegetarian organic' vegetable garden...
